First Class
How does it work when I arrive?
We recommend you arrive at the studio 15 minutes before class and let the front desk know it’s your first time at SoHo Dance LA. They’ll give you a tour, and welcome you to the studio.
Do you have water or do I have to bring mine?
We work up a good sweat in class, so it’s important to hydrate. Make sure to bring a water bottle or you can purchase bottled water at our front desk.
What to wear?
Come in your favorite casual and comfortable clothes that will not hinder your movement.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. It’s important for us to know who’s dancing with us and to have your contact information. Adult dancers can create an account online, in studio, or by calling a studio. Dancers under 18 can create an account in studio provided their parent or guardian is present.
What to expect for the first class?
Classes are 45-minutes long. Typically, we begin with a warm-up, move on to turn patterns, basic footwork, lead follow tips, and refocus with arm styling, and finally having fun while you dance.
What if I can’t do everything in the class?
One of the best things about our system is that you will be assigned to your dance level. With the ability to adjust your level as you work through them. The class can suit each dancer’s abilities. With every class comes increased confidence and strength, so we encourage first timers to start with our private lessons or an intro series.
